hauled to processing equipment. Scrapers and dozers will once again be used to backfill
finished areas as they are mined.
15. What equipment will be used forearthmoving?
The mobile equipment used in mining will thus consist of bulldozers, scrapers, front-end
loaders, and haul trucks.
16. If not addressed in Exhibit G,please describe all water diversions and impoundments. This
includes any ditches or berms for stormwater.
As shown on Map C-2, a small detention pond will be used to control the water discharge
from pit dewatering. The mining pit itself will act as a detention structure during mining.
17. The nature, depth and thickness of the deposit to be mined and the thickness and type of
overburden to be removed(may be marked"CONFIDENTIAL," pursuant to Paragraph
1.3(3));
The alluvium deposit is roughly 30 feet deep, as shown by the pit topography on Map C-2.
18. The nature of the stratum immediately beneath the material to be mined in sedimentary
deposits
The bedrock beneath the alluvium are the sandstones of the Mesaverde Group.
19. Topsoil and overburden piles need to be included in affected acreage. Introduction differs from
exhibits. Total maximum affected is 51 acres.
See the revised Map C-2,which shows the that the topsoil and overburden piles are within the
affected area. The maximum affected area is 51 acres, 40.7 acres of which will be the pits
themselves.
20. Please specify the maximum height of highwalls and maximum slope. Map C-3 states 1.5:1
while mining, please state this in the narrative portion.
Mining will take place to perimeter slopes of 1.5H:1V. A maximum of 1000 feet of
unbackfilled slope will be open at any given time.
21. Clarify that according to the reclamation plan a maximum of 1400 ft. of un-reclaimed slope may
exist. Which is up to 1000 ft. maybe un-backfilled.And up to 400 ft. of graded slope maybe un-
topsoiled at any given time. Which means a total of 1400 ft. of slope will require topsoil.
A maximum of 1000 ft of mined out slope may be unbackfilled at any time. Beyond that, a
maximum of 400 ft of backfilled, but not topsoiled, slope may be present at any time.
22. No inert fill form was attached. Please attached the referenced form. Also please include a
statement that fill will meet the definition of Rule 1.1(20)
An inert fill form is attached. Any inert material will conform to the definition found in Rule
1.1.(20).
23. Please clarify in the narrative portion which buildings are what(temporary/permanent). Specify
construction material (building and foundation type),dimensions for all permanent structures.
All structures used for mining (office, scale, etc.)will be removed following mining. The office
will be a mobile trailer structure. The fuel storage area will be a bermed area, with no
structure. The truck scale consists of an inground scale (roughly 20' x 60') and a scale house.
The scale will sit on a set of concrete blocks (3 -3' x 10' x 2' blocks).
24. How you will address reject material generated from the asphalt and cementplants.
