July 19, 2016 C-1982-056/Foidel Creek Mine JLE

Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 0
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1

Pond G was holding water but was not discharging. It appears the concrete supporting the v-notch weir has been
repaired, water had been short circuiting the weir as a result of an animal burrow. However a new animal burrow
was observed near the concrete. Since the pond was not discharging it is difficult to determine if the new concrete
has fixed the short circuiting issue. The embankment was stable and vegetated and the primary and emergency
spillway was clear and functional.
Ditch F-1 north of the P.M. Bay needs to be repaired and positive drainage to Pond F needs to be re-
established.
The wastewater treatment ponds were observed. Each pond was holding water and the embankments were stable
and vegetated.

Pond F was not discharging. The embankment was stable and vegetated. The primary spillway was clear and
functional.

Pond E was holding water but was not discharging. The first cell in the Pond is scheduled to be dredged out this
summer. The embankment of the pond was stable and vegetated. The primary and emergency spillway was clear
and functional.

Pond D was holding water and discharging. The embankment was stable and vegetated and the delta formed at the
pond inlet is scheduled to be cleaned in the near future. The primary and emergency spillway was clear and
functional.

Pond B was holding water and discharging. The embankment was stable and vegetated. The spillway was clear
and functional. The sump above Pond B and the first cell of Pond B is scheduled to be dredged in the near future.

The drainage around the BOB pile was walked. The buffer zone signs adjacent to the drainage have blown off.
TC was constructing new buffer zone signs while I was on site.

Pond T was holding water and a small trickle of water was discharging from the v-notch weir. The embankment
was stable and vegetated and the primary and emergency spillway was clear and functional.

The 6MN facilities sediment pond was holding water but was not discharging. The embankment was stable and
vegetated and the spillway was clear and functional.

The Area 1 pond was holding water and appeared functional.

Pond C was damp but was not discharging. The majority of the embankment was well vegetated and stable. The
southeast portion of the embankment near the trail loadout has sparse vegetation established. Also an area where
it appears a small amount of fill material has been placed at the toe of the embankment on the north side of the
embankment has sparse vegetation established. The primary and emergency spillway of the pond appears to be
clear and functional.
