Newmont Mining Corporation ■ <br /> Cripple Creek&Victor Gold Mine ■ <br /> Squaw Gulch VLF CQA <br /> NewFields Job No.475.0106.006 <br /> Week Ending Saturday,March 26,2016 <br /> o 110+00 to 114+00 and ADR Haul Road 36+00 to 38+00 <br /> o J4+00 to J8+00 and ADR Haul Road 76+00 to 78+00 <br /> • An excavator equipped with a hammer attachment broke up oversized material to a <br /> nominal size less than 24-inches so that it could be placed as structural fill per project <br /> specifications. <br /> • Compaction of Structural Fill was achieved using a smooth drum roller. <br /> • Material was cut from the bench between stations H2+00 to H6+00 in preparation for <br /> SLF placement near the current Phase I geomembrane limits. <br /> 1.3 Subgrade <br /> Subgrade was accepted on Monday, March 21 in the area of the Phase I Leak Detection Trench <br /> prior to the installation of the trench. The attached Figure 1 presents the area that was <br /> accepted. <br /> Subgrade was also accepted for geogrid installation at the first "step" of UG#6617. <br /> 1.4 Leak Detection Trench <br /> No Leak Detection activities performed during this reporting period. <br /> 1.5 Soil Liner Fill (SLF) <br /> SLF processing continued throughout the week at Dump 1. CAT 777 haul trucks were utilized to <br /> haul SLF material from the south east side of Dump 1 to the Dump 1 Processing area. <br /> Approximately 83,068 dry tons of material has been processed as of Saturday, March 26, 2016. <br /> 2.0 GEOSYNTHETICS <br /> 2.1 Geogrid <br /> Approximately 5360 square feet of geogrid (total) was placed at UG#6617. <br /> 3.0 STORM WATER MANAGEMENT <br /> Best Management Practices continued to be performed. <br /> 4.0 NEWFIELDS LABORATORY ACTIVITIES <br /> One samples of Soil Liner Fill (NF-SLF-7-C) was collected from the processing plant. Sieve <br /> analysis, atterberg limits and compaction testing will be performed at the on-site laboratory. <br /> Permeability testing will be performed at the NewFields soils laboratory in Elko, Nevada. <br /> Page 3 <br />
