1.0 EARTHWORKS
1.1 Underground Working Remediation
• NewFields personnel observed confirmatory drilling activities and noted any voids that
were encountered. Confirmatory drilling was performed at the following underground
workings:
o UG#6514 (further remediation required)
o UG#6444 (further remediation required)
o Upper Anaconda Mine Complex — UG#6525, UG#6524, UG#6488, UG#6487,
UG#6489 (further remediation required)
• Ames shot the boreholes at UG#6478. The shot rock will be excavated and a
remediation plan will be developed. Further remediation is required.
> Two layers of geogrid were placed on the first "step" of UG#6617. As built survey was
completed prior to the placement of six inches of select structural fill over each layer.
Compaction of the first and second layers was achieved using a smooth drum roller. A
third layer of geogrid will be placed on this "step" and three more geogrid "steps" need
to be placed over the working. Further remediation is required.
1.2 Structural Fill
Structural Fill placement continued within the Squaw Gulch VLF Phase II footprint. NewFields
personnel inspected fill material and observed placement and compaction procedures to
ensure that they were in accordance with the project technical specifications. Ambient and fill
material temperatures were monitored and recorded during fill placement to ensure that no
frozen material was placed or compacted in the area. The following structural fill construction
activities occurred during the shift:
• Slope rough grading (cut to fill) in areas bounded by bench stations:
o 120+00 to 122+00 and K18+00 to K22+00
o K18+00 to K22+00 and M14+00 to M18+00
o N12+00 to N16+00 and S38+00 to S42+00
Y Slope rough grading (cut to stockpile) in areas bounded by bench stations:
o M12+00 to M14+00 and S22+00 to S24+00
o 118+00 to 122+00 and K12+00 to K16+00
