EXCESS SPOIL and DEVELOPMENT WASTE — Rule 4.09 <br />Placement; Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization: <br />Excess spoil staged east of the West Pit was inspected from the overlook located near the rock crusher area. Future <br />reclamation plans to continue working on excess spoil starting next spring. Excess spoil east of the West Pit <br />reclamation is contained by surrounding berm to ensure future runoff is intercepted prior to reaching the reclaimed <br />areas. No issues were observed. <br />EXPLOSIVES — Rule 4.08 <br />Distance Prohibitions 4.08.4; Warnings 4.08.4; Control of Adverse Effects 4.08.4: <br />Drill holes for future blasting within the South Taylor Pit had been recently drilled prior to the inspection. Blasting <br />did not occur during the inspection. <br />Drill hole location within South Taylor Pit. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />Elk was located throughout the mine site. A group of elk around 12 was located along the Work Area Pond. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />The Wash Bay and Work Area were inspected. Both ponds held water with water levels below the primary <br />discharge inlets. No discharge was occurring. Pond embankments were snow covered but no signs of erosion or <br />instability were observed. <br />The Gossard Ponds were inspected. Fall of 2015, both ponds were cleaned by a subcontracted company. Pond <br />cleanings were placed within the South Taylor Pit. Both ponds held water with no discharge. Embankments were <br />snow covered with no issues. Spillways were visible and clear of any debris. <br />The Stoker Pond held minimal water and embankments were snow covered. Spillways were observed with no <br />issues. <br />Prospect Pond was snow covered in approximately 12" of snow. No discharge was occurring at the time of the <br />
