Figure 6 - Carrara Italy Marble Quarry showing steep long term stability. <br />Marble quarrying results in a significant amount of waste marble. Blocks which are not saleable <br />either will be utilized within the site for the construction of roads, retaining walls, or other structures <br />or they will be broken up using a hydraulic hammer and sold or backfilled into the designed Waste <br />Rock Landforms (WRL). The WRL have been designed to mimic the historic jumbled marble block <br />piles while being geotechnically stable as shown in Geotechnical Exhibit. Block walls have been <br />used by Colorado Stone Quarries since they have taken over the site. These walls will remain stable <br />and will be visually stunning structures. Walls comparable in height to the designed WRL have been <br />in place for more than 5 years without stability issues (Figure 7). <br />The Pride of America DRMS 112c <br />Exhibit D - 5 12/23/15 <br />
