Figure 7- Block wall being developed in front of Portal #3
2. Mining Timetable
By expanding the mining out to the additional gallery and quarries, selectivity in mining to meet
market demands is greatly improved. While the marble throughout the deposit is stunningly white,
the delicate veining varies through the geologic section as well as along strike of the deposit. The
intent of the operation is to open the quarries as soon as possible in order to explore and develop the
marble within those areas.
Current operations within the Lincoln Gallery will continue. Access to the Lincoln Gallery is already
established through Portals #5-7. Due to variability of the marble market exact mining life for the
gallery is unknown. However, it is estimated that the gallery has 50-100 years of mine life if
excavated to the approximate depth of the Washington Gallery.
Access to the Jefferson Quarry will be established beginning in 2016, but actual quarrying is not
expected until 2017. The Jefferson Quarry has approximately 3.0 million cubic yards of marble. The
The Pride of America DRMS 112c
Exhibit D - 6 12/23/15
