2.05.4(2)(f) Solid Waste Disposal <br />All solid waste (non -coal wastes), e.g., lumber, unusable machinery, and waste building <br />materials, was removed from the mine site and disposed of in an approved land fill or <br />recycling facility. <br />2.05.4(2)(g) Mine Openings <br />There were no mine openings that require sealing. All known exploration holes were <br />plugged in accordance with 4.07. All water or monitoring wells were capped or plugged <br />in accordance with 4.07 or destroyed during mining or reclamation. The following water <br />monitoring or water supply wells were originally drilled for the Carbon Junction Mine. <br />Their current status is as follows: <br />Well PW1 (AKA 82-4)- Information regarding the drilling and completion of this well <br />(as documented by applications to DWR and drillers reports) is contained in Appendix 4- <br />3. This well was permitted through the State Engineer's Office as an industrial water <br />supply well. Subsequently, that permit expired. Currently, the well is still in place and <br />has been sealed with a welded steel cap. Oakridge has received approval from the <br />Colorado Division of Water Resources for a permit to retain this well for residential <br />purposes. <br />Well B 10- Information regarding the drilling and completion of this well (as documented <br />by applications to DWR and drillers reports) is contained in Appendix 4-3. The well has <br />been sealed in accordance with applicable Division regulations, and written and <br />photographic evidence was submitted to the Division under separate cover in 2012. <br />Well B 17- Information regarding the drilling and completion of this well (as documented <br />by applications to DWR and drillers reports) is contained in Appendix 4-3. The well has <br />been sealed in accordance with applicable Division regulations, and written and <br />photographic evidence was submitted to the Division under separate cover in 2011. <br />Well 94-1- Information regarding the drilling and completion of this well was obtained <br />from applications to the Colorado Division of Water Resource (herein incorporated by <br />reference). As reported to the Division in Annual Hydrologic Reports, the well was <br />reclaimed by the backfilling of the South Pit in 2003 by Oakridge's reclamation <br />contractor (Four Corners Materials). No record of information regarding the measures <br />undertaken in the reclamation of the well has been found. <br />Well 95-1- Information regarding the drilling and completion of this well was obtained <br />from applications to the Colorado Division of Water Resource (herein incorporated by <br />reference). Currently, the well is still in place and has been sealed with a steel cap.
