2.05.4 Reclamation Plan <br />No further coal mining will occur under this permit at the Carbon Junction Mine. <br />At this time the surface disturbancesassociated with the Carbon Junction Mine;the North <br />Pit, North Pit Haul Road,South Pit Drill Pad,Permanently Reclaimed Spoils Area, <br />Equipment Area,Sediment Ponds 001 and 002 and the sediment control system for the <br />coal minehave all been permanently reclaimed. The Carbon Junction Canyon Channel <br />permanent diversion has been constructed. <br />The road to and through the mine sitewas approved for retention post-mine. <br />Sediment Ponds #1 and #2 were reclaimed between December 2008 and April 2009. <br />Topsoil Stockpiles #4 and #7remain in placeand were approved for retention under <br />TechnicalRevision 16. <br />The reclamation plan is retained to describe the final reclamation activities that took <br />place in 2006,and 2008-2009. <br />2.05.4(2) Reclamation Plan Elements <br />The total disturbed area remaining at the Carbon Junction Mine to be reclaimed under <br />this permit wasslightly over 37acresat the beginning of 2006. The approved post- <br />mining land uses for the mine are industrial and commercial, recreation, and residential. <br />Oakridge Energy, Inc., is planning a large development on the entire mesa, of which the <br />Carbon Junction Mine constitutes only a small portion. Goff Engineering of Durango has <br />been retained bythe landowner to design the development and work with the appropriate <br />agencies on securing all permits required. <br />A Cross-Section Map provides a comparison between the existing and final topography. <br />Post-mining topography,withatwo-footcontour interval, is depicted on Map C1.0 in <br />Appendix 5-12. <br />Completed Reclamation <br />North Pit Reclamation <br />Coal stripping occurred at this location during the operation of the Carbon Junction Mine. <br />Pre-reclamation disturbance consistedof the exposed sandstone layer forming the base of <br />the coal seam that was mined, a relatively flat bench area, and adjacentdownspoiled fill <br />below the bench. <br />Reclamation of the North Pit involvedthe following tasksundertaken between May and <br />August 2006: <br />Abridged Permit Document 5-7Permit Renewal RN04 4/2014 <br />
