Once this area is determined, please update the affected acreage
provided in King I Section 2.03.8. Acreages shown for disturbance at the surface facilities
for King I and King II should also be reviewed, and updated as necessary.
DRMS 06/14:
Sections 2.03.8 were revised to show affected areas (for surface
disturbances and underground workings) for the specific facility. (The Division notes that
actual affected area for King I is significantly smaller than what was permitted and
previously assumed. The total permit area (2,702.77 acres) is given in both locations.

The application form indicated that an increase of 83.7 acres from the previous permit has
resulted in a new boundary. The Division is interested to know how the proposed total
acreage was calculated. (The permit does not need to describe the method used; the
information is for the Division's records.)

The Permit Area acreage in the current permit is listed as 2046.15 at King I and 295.5 at King II
(2341.65 acres total). These numbers were originally submitted using the best information
available at the time and included the "affected areas" that were shown as outside of the Permit
Area Boundary. The revised total Permit Boundary acreage (2,702.77 acres) reflects not only
updated survey information, but addresses your comments concerning affected areas that lie
outside of the permit area boundaries. Sections 2.03.8 as submitted reflect the current permit area
as well as the affected area as determined by underground workings and actual surface
disturbance areas.

I have received revised pages for King I and King II Section 2.03.4(9)
Lands Contiguous to the Permit Area pgs. 5 and 6 regarding OSMRE permit CO-0106A
and modification to Federal Coal Lease COC-62920. Please clarify if these pages are
revised for both the King I or the King II permit and should be inserted in each permit.
Also, page numbers in this section jump from page 3 to page 5 as per the pages referred to
above. Please number pages consecutively.

Please resubmit tables relevant to Section 2.03.8 for both King I and King II relevant to
information reflecting the current permit area as well as the affected area as determined
by underground workings and actual surface disturbance. Please account for areas
subject to angle of draw effects.

So that DRMS can accurately depict permit boundaries on maps and track changes in
permit and affected area acreage please provide DWG files for the following layers:

1.King I permit boundary

2.King I affected area boundary (this would include projected angle of draw and
final extent of working).

3.King II permit boundary, reflecting the additional 83.7 acres

4.King II affected area boundary, reflecting the additional 83.7 acres (this would
include projected angle of draw and final extent of working).

For the purposes of tracking acreages in our permit system please provide a table for both
