King Coal Mine (C-1981-035) TR-24 Adequacy Review #3 Response
to the list of coal owners.
King I & II, Sections 2.03.4 have been updated to reflect available coal ownership information.
Satisfactorily addressed.

4. DRMS 02/18:
Rule 2.03.4(9) requires a statement of all lands, interests in lands,
options, or pending bids on interests held or made by the applicant for lands which are
contiguous to the area covered by the permit. Please provide information regarding any
modification that is being sought for existing Lease COC-63920. (Information required by
this paragraph may be considered confidential for purposes of these rules if the
requirements of Rule 2.07.5 are met.)

DRMS 06/14:
The text was updated, as requested, to include the lease modification
presently being sought by GCC. In the midterm review, the Division should also have
requested that the portion of existing Lease COC-63920 within the OSM permit area (Ute
Mountain Tribe surface) be described. Please expand 2.03.4(9) to address the lease and
permit currently held that is contiguous to the DRMS Permit Area.

King I & II, Sections 2.03.4 have been updated to address Lease COC-62920, the
Ute/Dunn/Stephens Lease and OSMRE Permit C0-0106A.
Satisfactorily addressed as per
http://www.blm.gov/co/st/en/BLM_Programs/minerals/coal_table.html

2.03.8 Permit Term Information
2. DRMS 02/18:
Affected areas are tabulated in Sections 2.03.8 of the permit; the
Division calculates the sum of the King I and King II Affected areas to be 2,374.89 acres.
King I permit maps appear to indicate that some affected areas lie outside the bounds of
the permit area. The Division expects that this configuration was developed in order to
identify any impacts due to angle of draw that may have resulted from removal of coal
right up to the permit/lease boundary. Mining at King I was completed in 2009, so GCC
should have an accurate map of the final underground workings from which the actual
affected area (including angle of draw) can be determined.

a.DRMS 02/18:
Please revise the King I maps to accurately depict the true affected area,
given the final extent of the workings and associated projection of the angle of draw to
the surface.

DRMS 06/14:
The affected area boundary has been updated, as requested. However, the
symbol used is a light-weight green line which is hard to see, and there are already two
other solid green lines being used on Maps 004.
Please use a line type that is more readily identifiable and add the symbol to the
Legend(s).

King I & II maps that show the affected area boundary have been updated with a line type that is
more readily identifiable, and the Legend symbol has been updated to reflect this change
.
Map update has been satisfactorily addressed.
Prepared by: R.
