October 19, 2015 C-1982-056/Foidel Creek Mine JLE
marker, but the pile has not been reconfigured to a more stable configuration. TC would like to spread this topsoil
in the near future on the face of the reclaimed 2nd bench and would prefer not to manipulate the pile or move it
unnecessarily. TC will need to monitor the progress of completing the 2nd bench of the CRDA expansion and
evaluate the feasibility of replacing the topsoil in the near future. If the topsoil will not be spread in the near
future, the pile will need to be reconfigured with more gentle side slopes and seeded.
The underdrain system does not appear to have been advanced up the slope since the last DRMS inspection. The
RDA -6 drainage appeared stable and functional. TC has not repaired the small head -cut observed along the RDA -
lb drainage on the north and west side of the CRDA pile. Mr. Nettleton observed the area in question and will
likely bring in rock to help stabilize the drainage. It may be necessary to install several rock check dams to help
stabilize the drainage.
The face of the first bench is vegetated and stable. Water was discharging at the underdrain and the seep at the toe
of the slope adjacent to the underdrain. Signs of failure and instability were not observed.
ROADS — Rule 4.03
Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3)
Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4)
Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6)
Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
The road around each of the facilities appeared to be graded and maintained.
SLIDES and DAMAGE - Rule 4.12:
Repairs have been made to the northwest slope of the Fish Creek Tipple reclaimed area. Rills were observed in
this area and the Operator has repaired the rills and smoothed the hill side. The Division recommends installing
erosion control waddles to help stabilize the area and seeding the area.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 6 of 12
