3.0 MONITORING WELL CONSTRUCTION
3.1 ROAD DEVELOPMENT
At site GWMS-01 an existing road will be upgraded for the
surface water monitoring proposed at SWGS-04 and to accomo-
date necessary drilling of one set of alluvial wells. Ground
Water Monitoring Station GWMS-02 will require a road to be
built for drilling purposes only. After the wells are
drilled the road can be reclaimed. For purposes of monitoring,
Powderhorn will use the existing Cottonwood Creek Road after
completion of the wells and reclamation of the drill road.
At site GWMS-03 an existing road will have to be upgraded to
allow access for drilling and monitoring purposes.
3.2 WELL CONSTRUCTION
At sites GWMS-01, GWMS-02, and GWMS-03, two wells will be
developed at each site. The wells will be spaced a minimum of
five feet apart but not greater than 10 feet apart. Each well
will be completed and cased to bedrock. One well will contain
perforated casing along its entire depth, and the second well will
contain perforated casing in the lowermost portion of the alluvium.
The well perforated along the entire depth will be designated
"Well P. The well perforated only at the lowermost section will
be designated "Well A". Refer to Figures 1 and 2 for drawings
showing the proposed well construction.
-2-
