discharge was observed as clear and there
was no concern of suspended solids.
NOTE: Recent pond cleanout has occurred
and the cleanout material is currently
being stockpiled on the pond embankment.
This pond is functioning as designed.
Working Pond
Inspected the pond for stability and overall
functionality. This included the inlet
structure, principle spillway, and r
emergency spillway. This pond is'p,
functioning as designed. It is understood g:
via conversation during the inspection and
information obtained from previous DRMS inspection reports that there have been issues
regarding the pond principle spillway. As a result, the operator has recently reconstructed
the pond embankment to include a new
discharge structure. Information obtained
in OSMRE's May 2015 inspection report
identified areas of concern with regard to
erosion control BMP's and their improperd ti
implementation in this area. Several of
those same concerns that were noted in the'
aforementioned inspection report were
also observed during this inspection.
Further conversation with Mr. Blunt about
it I
this issue provided additional insight. Mr. = ,
Blunt provided that because of the wild
game that frequent this pond for watering, ,, a
they continue to trample the hay wattles
time and time again, thus creating an
ongoing maintenance item.
East Pit Ditch
Inspected the drainage for stability and overall functionality. This drainage is approximately 30'
wide and consists of riprap armoring with a D50 of about 12-18". Overall, the East Pit Ditch
appears to be stable and functioning as designed.
Contemporaneous Reclamation (Rule 4.13)
Reclamation activities were observed at the west pit reclamation block. Although no one was
working in this area during the inspection, it is evident that reclamation is underway. Those
efforts include recent backfill and grading for preparation of topsoil redistribution. Additionally,
the operator is crushing and screening rock for construction of the west pit ditch.
Revegetation (Rule 4.15)
2
