September 21, 2015 C-1982-056/Foidel Creek Mine JLE
channel has established in this drainage and overall the drainage is stable. One small head -cut was observed that
was about 2.5 feet deep that should be stabilized.
Figure 1. Head -cut in RDA -1b drainage
The following maintenance item will need to be addressed:
• The culvert at the intersection of Routt County Road 33 and the 6MN ventilation shaft access road is about
3/4 full of sediment and needs to be cleaned out.
• The head -cut in the RDA -lb drainage needs to be repaired and stabilized.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
TC is longwall mining in the Western Mining District in the 13LT Panel. Development mining is occurring in the
Wolf Creek Reserve in the 9RT gateroad.
The WC -022 corehole was observed. During the August 2015 DRMS inspection, it was unclear if this corehole
was sealed. According to Mr. Watterson, TC had the driller assess the corehole and had them grout and seal the
hole. The corehole was sealed.
PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES — Rule 4.10 and 4.11
Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement:
TC continues to place coal mine waste in the refuse disposal area. Waste has been placed near the end of the
underdrain at the top of the refuse disposal area. The second bench is nearly at the final elevation. Reclamation of
this bench face may occur next spring. Topsoil has been stripped on the west side of the refuse disposal area near
the top of the 2nd bench. The topsoil is stockpiled adjacent to the top of the 2nd bench. It does not appear TC
will be able to reclaim the second bench face prior to winter. Given this, the stripped topsoil will need to be
protected from wind and water erosion. The topsoil stockpile will need to be shaped in a more stable
configuration and marked with a topsoil identification marker. Water was discharging at the toe of the underdrain
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 3 of 10
