proposed for the permit boundary, but new pits and pit advancements were to add 1,035 acres to <br />the disturbed/affected acreage. RN1/PR2 incorporated changes in numerous areas including the <br />reclamation bond amount, environmental baseline data, sediment and erosion control, and <br />operations. <br /> <br />Approval of RN1/PR2 <br /> <br />The Division found the submittal for RN1/PR2 complete on March 2, 1987 and sent adequacy <br />questions to Trapper on April 30, 1987. Trapper responded to those comments with two sets of <br />responses received by the Division on August 24 and September 1, 1987; revised post-mining <br />topography maps were received on October 9, 1987. The Division sent Trapper follow-up <br />adequacy questions on November 12, 1987 and received responses from Trapper Mine on <br />December 11, 1987. Additional exchanges of comments and responses continued into April <br />1988. RN1/PR2 was approved on April 8, 1988, effective December 31, 1987. <br /> <br /> <br />RN2/RN3 <br /> <br />The Division received an application from Trapper for RN2/PR3 on July 1, 1992 and found it <br />complete on July 7, 1992. The application was for another 5-year term and addressed new pits <br />and further advancement of pits within the permit area. An additional 1,562 acres were to be <br />disturbed. The Division sent its preliminary adequacy review questions and comments to the <br />Trapper Mine on August 31, 1992 and received responses on October 23, 1992. The Division <br />submitted follow-up questions to Trapper Mine on November 10, 1992 and Trapper responded <br />on January 12, 1992. The follow-up questions were primarily in regard to the Flume Gulch <br />drainage which was designated an alluvial valley floor in the findings document for RN-02/PR- <br />03. The Division approved PR3 on January 19, 1993 and RN2 on January 21, 1993 with an <br />effective date of December 31, 1992. <br /> <br />RN3/PR4 <br /> <br />The Division received the RN3/PR4 application from Trapper on June 17, 1997 and found it <br />complete on June 20, 1997. The application was for another 5-year term and called for <br />operations to continue generally as they have in the past with the pits advancing eastward within <br />the permit area and disturbing an additional 1,025 acres. The Division sent preliminary <br />adequacy review questions to Trapper on August 21, 1997, and sent two additional questions on <br />October 6, 1997. Responses to all of the Division's questions were received by the Division on <br />December 17, 1997. The Division then sent two follow-up questions to the operator on February <br />20, 1998 and received responses to those questions on March 16, 1998. Additional revised pages <br />were submitted by TMI on April 14, 1998. The Division approved RN3/PR4 on May 13, 1998. <br />The decision became final on July 13, 1998. <br /> <br /> <br />RN4/PR5 <br /> <br />The Division received the RN4/PR5 application from Trapper on June 25, 2002 and found it <br />complete on July 3, 2002. The Division sent preliminary adequacy review questions to Trapper <br />on August 29, 2002.
