CRIPPLE CREEK & VICTOR GOLD MINING Co. AT
ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (COLORADO) amec
SQUAW GULCH (VLF) WEEKLY REPORT foster
wheeler
A Cat excavator extended the existing tertiary underdrain trench located above
station B16+00 approximately 100 LF. A blanket drain, consisting of Drain Cover Fill,
was constructed to funnel underground springs into the modified underdrain trench.
Laborers placed geofabric, 80 -mil HDPE geomembrane, drain rock and drain cover. The
entire site was then covered with geo-fabric. Subgrade was repaired to design elevation
and compacted per project specifications. An additional area was observed to be
discharging water downslope from the excavated trench. "Hole Plug" (50% bentonite and
50% cement) was placed downslope between the interface of fabric, 80 MIL HDPE and
the down -gradient underdrain trench wall. All water was diverted into the primary and
secondary underdrains.
A technical memo will be generated to address deviation of design with respect to the
tertiary underdrain.
Leak Detection:
The removed portion of leak detection, approximately 40 LF, was replaced per project plans and
specifications upon completion of the tertiary underdrain between A14+00 to C11+00.
Miscellaneous:
Amec personnel continued LVSCS pump monitoring and observation.
B) Underground Workings:
Anaconda Mine Complex: Step 4: Completed second layer of geogrid installation. Completed
placement and compaction of the Select Structural Fill material. Further remediation required.
UG #6050: A John Deere 670 excavator removed shot rock from the working in preparation for
geogrid subgrade. Further remediation required.
UG #6004: A production blast occurred during this reporting period. A John Deere 670
excavator removed shot rock from the working in preparation for geogrid subgrade. Further
remediation required.
UG #6531: Continued drilling operations, 700LF. Further remediation required.
UG #6455: Continued drilling operations, 2,900LF. Further remediation required.
UG #6673: A production blast occurred during this reporting period. Further remediation
required.
C) Geomembrane:
A second sample of the exposed geomembrane in Phase 1 was collected for exposure testing
(P65). Both samples, P65 and P103, were shipped to a third party laboratory for conformance
testing. A technical memorandum will be generated to discuss the deviation of specified
exposure limits.
Geomembrane tie-in to PSSA was exposed between B12+00 and B14+00. Slope rehabilitation
was performed to fix subgrade and Soil Liner Fill surface.
Geomembrane installation within the PSSA continued this week performing deployment,
seaming, repair, and QA/QC activities. Geomembrane installation was performed at the ADR
pad and PSSA northwest slope. Approximately 174,328 square feet of 80mil LLDPE
geomembrane was deployed. Soil Liner Fill was inspected and approved by AMEC, Ames and
