June 16, 2015 C-1982-056/Foidel Creek Mine JLE
Figure 10. Old stoker coal storage and loadout area.
TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06
Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4:
Whitetop was observed on many of the topsoil stockpiles throughout the site.
The topsoil along the access road to the 5MN cement borehole and pad has been consolidated into piles, marked
with identification markers and straw waddles have been put in place around the piles. TC will need to seed these
piles to establish vegetation on the piles to protect them from wind and water erosion.
It appears the animal holes observed on the topsoil stockpile at the Fish Creek Borehole Site have been filled in
and repaired.
OTHER:
The maintenance items listed below were noted during the April 8h, 2015 site inspection. These items were
evaluated during this inspection. The Division appreciates TC's efforts to address these items.
• The drainage ditch leading to Pond T is damaged and the water is short circuiting to the pond. This ditch
will need to be repaired.
o The ditch was repaired by the hired contractor; however, it appears the repaired ditch has been
blown through. This issue was discussed with the contractor and Brian Watterson. They will
conduct repairs and will likely stabilize this area with rock.
• A large metal tube has rolled down from the material storage area into the drainage above Pond T. This
tube will need to be brought back to the material lay down area.
o The tube has been removed from the drainage. This item was addressed.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 11 of 15
