June 16, 2015 C-1982-056/Foidel Creek Mine JLE
The old 18RT borehole area was observed. Vegetation has established throughout this site with the exception of a
small bare area which was a corehole site for the Wolf Creek Reserve. Sparse vegetation has established where
the corehole was drilled. The ditch along the access road has been maintained and check dams and waddles have
been installed in the ditch and appear to be functioning.
The Western Mining District Borehole Stabilization pad area has been reclaimed. This area is fenced and
vegetation has established in this area. Some whitetop patches were observed throughout this area. One topsoil
stockpile remains in this area likely stripped from the road area. The topsoil pile is vegetated, marked with an
identification marker and stable.
The sagebrush/meadow reference area was observed. It does not appear this area has been affected by the mining
operation. The area is marshy and Foidel Creek runs through the area. One small patch of whitetop was observed
on the southeast side of the reference area adjacent to the school house. The Pasture and Sagebrush reference
areas are delineated with T -posts. These areas appear undisturbed, weeds were not observed within these areas.
New maintenance items:
• On the west side of the Fish Creek Tipple reclaimed area, larger rills were observed. These features will
need to be repaired and appropriate erosion control measures will need to be implemented.
Figure 9. Rills on the west side of the Fish Creek Tipple reclaimed area.
• Cattle have created a trail through the diversion ditch embankment on the northwest side of the Fish Creek
Tipple reclaimed area. This trail is down cutting the diversion embankment and will need to be repaired.
• A culvert on the west side of the Fish Creek Tipple Area is half full of sediment and will need to be
cleaned out.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 9 of 15
