Cat D6 dozers spread the material in
approximately 18" loose lifts for future finish grading and compaction.
One Cat excavator began and completed the construction of the Phase 1 containment berm
between stations A0 +00 and C0 +00.
Drain Cover Fill:
Continued the placement of Drain Cover Fill (DCF) material. The DCF was placed over previously
deployed 80 mil LLDPE liner, between the Phase 1 B and DD benches, approximately between
stations B4 +00 through B12 +00. GPS equipped Cat D6 LGP dozers
were used to spread the material, pushing uphill while maintaining a minimum of two feet of cover
between the LLDPE liner and the dozer tracks. The Cat 740 rubber tired haul trucks maintained a
minimum cover depth of four feet above the geomembrane liner. See attached figure of DCF
placed during this reporting period.
Prior to DCF placement, high volume solution collection piping was placed on the approved
LLDPE liner per the project drawings.
Ames and Amec personnel were on site throughout the shift to monitor the integrity of the liner
and piping during DCF placement.
The above DCF activities were performed per the project plans and specifications.
Spent Ore: No activity
Underdrain System:
Primary Underdrain: Complete.
Secondary Underdrain: No activity
Tertiary Underdrain: No activity
Leak Detection:
Continued the excavation of the Leak Detection trench and the installation of the 3" perforated
polyethylene leak detection pipe immediately downslope of the Phase 1 C bench in the generEd
vicinity of stations C9 +00 through C15 +00.
Two excavators, one with attached rock hammer, began and completed the excavation of the
Leak Detection trench under the perimeter containment berm immediately downslope of station
C0 +00. The leak detection piping transitioned from perforated piping to solid piping, a SLF plug
and berm were constructed effectively creating the cut -off wall from perforated to solid.
The trench and pipe were excavated /installed per details V/260 and 5/260 of the project plans
and per the project specifications.
Miscellaneous:
One Cat 330 excavator and labor crew continued the welding /installation of the 10" HDPE ADR2
fire -water line.
