Exhibit B — Site Description William K. Havengar
Bootleg Quarry Lazy H Inc
Blakeland - Truckton (Bt) Association
The Blakeland-Truckton association soils consist of well - drained sand, sandy loam and loamy
sand located in areas of semidune relief or on long, narrow ridges. Blakeland - Truckton association
soils comprise approximately 18% of the impacted area on slope grades ranging from 3 to 9 %.
These soils are not suitable for cultivation and generally support native grass.
C) PROXIMATE MAN -MADE STRUCTURES
The following permanent man-made structures are located within 200 feet of the impacted area
(Exhibit E -1).
Descri lion
' ParceIOwaer -=
`r" Parcel Add`r_ess °: = =.
°` wA Parcel.Nuinber7
Barbed Wire Fence
Henrylyn Irrigation
N/A
0156701300002
District
Barbed Wire Fence
Johnie and Patricia
N/A
0156700000140
Vaughn
C) WATER RESOURCES
The proposed mining activities are not expected to directly affect surface or groundwater systems.
A discussion of the surface water, groundwater and water consumption is provided below.
The nearest permanent surface water includes the Denver - Hudson Canal and Box Elder Creek.
Both surface water bodies are outside the impacted area. Water flow is controlled in the Denver -
Hudson Canal by Henrylyn Irrigation District. Box Elder Creek is an ephemeral stream and water
flow only occurs temporarily after a precipitation event. The affected land will be graded and
reseeded after reclamation. The ground surface slope direction will be restored to pre - mining
conditions during reclamation. Therefore, there will be no significant change in surface water
runoff patterns as shown in Exhibit E -2. The areas disturbed during operations and reclamation
will not impact existing natural or manmade surface water bodies.
According to water well permits obtained from the Colorado State Engineer Division of Water
Resources (CDWk) online database, approximately 24 issued water well permits are located
within %2 -mile of the impacted area. Based on review of the water well applications, groundwater
near the site is reportedly present at a depth between 7 and 54 feet below ground surface in the
alluvial aquifer. The depth to groundwater for wells screened within the bedrock aquifer ranged
from 95 to 522 feet below ground surface. The maximum excavation depth during mining will be
approximately 5 feet below the existing ground surface. No excavation will occur below the water
table. Therefore, groundwater is not anticipated to be encountered or impacted during mining.
Water consumption for mining of the material will be minimal and will consist of dust suppression
for roads when necessary. Total annual water consumption is anticipated to be less than 0.25 acre -
feet. Water use during reclamation may consist of dust suppression during reclamation grading
and seeding operations.
Lazy H Inc has secured water from the Denver - Hudson Canal, which is owned and operated by
Henrylyn Irrigation District (lessee). Mining operations will not require any additional water
March 20, 2015 2 Engineering Analytics, Inc.
