SQUAW GULCH (VLF) WEEKLY REPORT foster

Phase 1 and Phase 2 slope grading activities occurred throughout the reporting period in multiple
areas of the VLF, generally using GPS equipped D6 dozers, Cat D7 dozers, and Cat D8 dozers.
Grading activities generally occurred in the following areas:
Phase 1 slopes between the L bench and the ADR2 haul road in the vicinity of stations L10 +00
through L11 +00 and access road stationing 88 +00;
Phase 1 slopes between the F and H benches in the vicinity of stations F28 +00 through F28 +r 5
and H28 +00 and H30 +00;
Phase 1 slopes between the C and E benches upslope of approximately stations C8 +00 through
C14 +00;
Phase 1 slopes between the E and G benches in the vicinity of stations E6 +00 through E12 +00
and G4 +00 G6 +00;
Phase 1 slopes between the H bench and the PSSA access road in the vicinity of stations
H18 +00 through H24 +00 and the PSSA access road stationing 62 +00 through 65 +00.
Phase 2 slopes between the M and N benches in the vicinity of stations M36 +00 through M40-100
and N14 +00 through N20 +00;
Phase 2 slopes upslope of PSSA access road stations 82 +00 through 86 +00 to the VLF pad
limits;
Phase 2 slopes between the I and M benches in the vicinity of stations 112 +00 through 118 +00
and M2 +00 through M8 +00;
Phase 2 slopes between the M and N benches in the vicinity of stations M46 +00 through M484 00
and N24 +00 through N28 +00.
All of the above grading activities were performed per the project plans and specifications.
Subgrade:
There was no subgrade accepted during the reporting period.
Soil Liner Fill:
Soil Liner Fill (SLF) processing continued periodically at the Cameron Site.
Continued the haul and placement of the SLF material during the first half of the reporting period.
One excavator loaded multiple Cat 740 haul trucks with the SLF material from the Midway
stockpile. The material was placed on the A bench (9,450 elevation) between approximately
stations A2 +00 through Al2 +00. The SLF was then spread in diagonal fingers up the slope
between the A and C benches using one Cat D6 dozer. The material was not being placed as an
engineered compacted SLF at this point in time but rather being stockpiled in the fingers and
along the bench for future placement and compaction and Leak Detection trench construction
access.
