Mr. Brock Bowles
April 1, 2015
Page 3
Item 5: The current irrigation pipe installed by WFC will not be adequate to supply the
Burbridge property with the water allotted to it.
Response: The Burbridge's own 55 shares of CC Ditch water. The CC Ditch Company was
contacted to determine the maximum amount of water allowed per share. The following
calculation is used:
Allowing for seepage and evaporation, there is approximately 100 cfs of water entering the ditch
system into the irrigation area. There are 3,250 shares of water in the system. It has been
determined that 12 %2 gallons of water per minute will flow through a 1 inch pipe with a water
coverage of 13 inches. This amount of water is accepted to be 1 share of water. Likewise: a 1
3/ inch pipe will carry 2 shares of water and a 2 inch pipe will carry approximately 7'/4 shares of
water. In summary, the Burbridge 55 shares of water are equivalent to 1.66 cfs.
The Burbridge supply pipe is a 12 inch pipe to his property terminating in 20 foot section of 6
inch pipe to accommodate the meter and valve. Utilizing the information presented above, a 6
inch pipe is more than adequate to supply the 55 shares of water as required. The planned usage
of the pipeline was explained and issues clarified, which eliminated some confusion caused by
previous discussions.
Item 6: Why are there only two sets of side roll sprinklers that cover the GuireBurbridge
fields (North of Pond 00 7) and three sets of side rolls that cover the GarvejBurbridge
property?
Response: During mining and reclamation, the CC Ditch was still in its temporary location,
above ground running through the WFC /Garvey property. The Burbridge property and the south
side of the WFC /Garvey property required 2 siderolls, the north side required another due to the
26 inch pipe sitting on the surface. In fact, the 3`d sideroll in that area (SR -08) traveled east/west
before the 26 inch pipe was put into its final placement. It covered part of the Guire property as
well. After the 26 inch pipe was buried, SR -08 was turned 90 degrees and the irrigation pump
was moved.
Item 7. Mr. Burbridge has requested "Rainbird" impact sprinkler heads on the side rolls on
his property rather than the Nelson R30 rotator sprinkler heads.
Response: It would seem that there is a perceived difference in the sprinkler types, rather than a
performance difference (very little). That being said, we can change to impact heads anytime
with the proper nozzles. The main benefit of the rotator style is it's much easier to clean and
claims that it fights the wind better. Otherwise, the radius (coverage area) and GPM delivery are
more or less the same assuming you have equivalent nozzle size and pressure.
