The area has
been slowly re- vegetating such that it had an average of 41 percent riparian and upland plant
establishment according to 2014 plot and transect data.
' The area will be spot seeded and mulched in 2015 or at the end of Phase 2 construction during
overall site reclamation. Weeds will be managed during the 2015 growing season and beyond
as needed.
Area 5 (0.01 Acre Created Riparian Area)
Area 5 is a 0.01 acre created riparian area that was destroyed by sand and sediment deposition
during the 2013 Flood. All planted and seeded vegetation was lost and the area was still bare in
2014. This area may be reseeded and mulched in 2015 or at the end of Phase 2 construction
during overall site reclamation. Weeds will be managed during the 2015 growing season and
beyond.
IArea 6 (0.02 Acre Created Riparian Area)
Area 6 is a 0.02 acre created riparian area that had been seeded and planted in 2012 and 2013.
AThe area was partially destroyed during the Flood by rising creek waters which removed a
portion of the bank including some planted mitigation area. However, this area had good
vegetation establishment which has rebounded to 69 percent vegetation cover with 30 percent
weeds and bare areas. Area 6 will likely fully re- vegetate on its own. However, any bare areas
will be reseeded and mulched in 2015 or at the end of Phase 2 construction during overall site
reclamation.
Schwartzwalder Mine Phase 1 — 2014 Second Annual Mitigation Monitoring Report Page 7
March 2015
