Twentymile Coal, LLC.
Page 3
April 3, 2015
8. Revised page 2.05 -3.1 indicates the subsidence monitoring network for the longwall area is
shown on Map 23a. The Division could not locate Map 23a within the permit application
package. Please submit an updated Map 23a.
9. Revised page 2.05 -3 indicates the total disturbed area is approximately 640 acres. The Division's
records indicate the total disturbed area to date is 734.22 acres. Please review and verify your
disturbed area acreage.
10. Revised Page 2.05 -3 and 2.01 -4 indicates the permit area is 22,447 acres and 22,607 acres
respectively. Revised page 2.01 -4 appears to include the 160 additional permit acreage proposed
with PR10. The Division's records indicate the current permit acreage for the site is 20,100 acres
and with the approval of PR10, the permit acreage will be 20,260 acres. Based on the Division's
files, it appears TC reduced the permit area with TR51 to 22,443 acres. TC requested to increase
the permit area by 80 acres with TR81 for a total permit area of 22,530 acres. Subsequently, with
Permit Renewal No. 6 (RN6), the permit area was cited to be 22,450 acres. In the most recent
technical revision,TR83, the permit area was cited to be 22,450 acres. Please review the permit
acreage and permitting history and verify that the permit acreage will be 22,607 acres with the
approval of PR 10.
11. On revised Map 23; Wolf Creek PR10 Mine Plan Modification map, please depict the affected
area boundary taking into account subsidence affects.
Rule 2.05.3; Permit Area
12. Revised page 2.05.13- 1indicates the total affected area will be 13,207 acres. When adding up all
of the affected areas listed on this page and including the projected 114 acres to be affected as a
result of mining in the WCR, the Division calculated the affected area to be 13,814 acres. Please
review and verify the affected area acreage. Please be sure to not double count affected acres for
underground workings that will be under currently affected workings. Also, please account for
surface affected acres that do not overlie current or projected underground workings.
Rule 2.05.6 — Mitization of Impacts of Mining Operations
13. Proposed revised page 2.05 -139 indicates that mining of the WCR will require dewatering of two
existing mine water pools in the overlying sealed mine working in the Wadge Seam. At this time,
a plan to dewater the two mine pools has not been submitted to the Division. Further, will the
existing mine water handling system and storage areas be able to handle the additional water
pumped from the WCR workings in order to mine in the panels currently proposed to be mined in
the WCR with PR10 that are not under the two mine pools? If so, please demonstrate this. If not,
please provide an update water handling plan to accommodate the additional water.
