The approved permit boundary for the Ralston Quarry is along the property lines for large <br />stretches. As is common in rural areas, fences were installed along the property line, as it was <br />understood to be located. However, it was noticed during the creation of AM03 that a portion of <br />the fencing on the west side of the permit area was actually outside of the permit area. Therefore, <br />the applicant decided to correctly incorporate this area within the permit boundary as part of this <br />amendment application. In order to maintain the same permit area as the current approval an <br />equal area of undisturbed ground within the permit area was removed. This swaps an <br />unimportant and undisturbed portion of the permit area for an area of use to the operators <br />Figure 1 — Permit Comparison shows these two areas: area added (green) and area removed <br />(red). <br />Figure I — Permit Comparison <br />
