2.3 Access Roads
All access roads are described in Section 1.3 of this mine plan. All trucks that leave the site for the
gravel operation will use Accesses 1, 4 or 6. All traffic supplying product demand to the south of
Alma will enter Highway 9 using Access 1 or 4 so that the traffic does not go through the town.
Every effort will be made to minimize the truck traffic through the town for all demand that exists to
the north. As described in Section 1.3, the roads will either be watered or sprayed with magnesium
chloride to keep dust down. These measures will be done on an as needed basis to ensure that dust is
kept to a minimum from the truck traffic. All trucks will also be covered as they leave the site and
will not track mud onto the Highway.
2.4 Topsoil Handling for Gravel Operation
As previously described, all disturbed area for the gravel portion of the disturbed area has been
previously disturbed with no topsoil salvaged. This area is 40.5 acres. The 110 area of 11.8 acres has
been regraded and will be reclaimed using fines from the stockpiles on site. Approximately 20,000
cy has been salvaged from Ponds #1 - #4 as of January 2015 This has been placed in Fines Pile #1
and #2, as shown on Map C -2. These piles will have slopes no steeper than 2.5H:1 V and will be
seeded according to the following mix:
Alma Placer Mine 1/15 34
