December 10, 2014 C- 1981 - 010 /Trapper Mine JLE <br />If this culvert is not necessary, it should be removed from Map M51 and section 4.8.1.2 of the Permit. <br />Ute Pond was holding water and was frozen. The pond was not discharging. The embankment appeared stable <br />and the primary and emergency spillway was clear and functional. <br />Horse Gulch Pond was holding water but was not discharging. The embankment appeared stable and the primary <br />and emergency spillways were clear and functional. <br />West Horse Pond was holding a small amount of water but was not discharging. The embankment was stable and <br />the primary and emergency spillways were clear and functional. <br />Middle Flume Pond No. 3 was holding water and discharging out of the primary and emergency spillway. It <br />appears that water is leaking under the flume. The flume will need to be repaired. Mr. Roberts collected a sample <br />for a WET test of the pond water. <br />Oak Gulch Ponds Al and #2 were observed. Both ponds were holding water but Pond #2 did not appear to be <br />discharging. <br />East Pyeatt No. 3 Pond was holding water and discharging. Mr. Roberts collected a sample for a WET test of the <br />discharge water. <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br />Trapper submitted and received approval of a Minor Revision (MR220) to strip additional 2.3 -acre area in the K- <br />Pit this year. This area was observed, and Trapper has stripped the area of topsoil. <br />The Molly Brown and the Queen Anne draglines were actively mining in the K, L and M pit area. Trapper is <br />actively backfilling the pit area while they are mining. <br />OTHER (SPECIFY): <br />Archeological Resource site 5MF948 was observed. Page 4 -3a of the permit indicates that this site is eligible to <br />for the National Register of Historic Places and that the site is outside of the permit area and proposed mining <br />area. The permit also indicates this site is located in Section 8 of Township 5 North, Range 90 West of the 6th <br />principal meridian. The Bureau of Land Management contacted the Division on December 3, 2014 and indicated <br />the location reported for this site is incorrect and that the site is actually within Section 5 of Township 5 North, <br />Range 90 West. The Division collected a GPS point at the location of the site to verify its location. The site is <br />located in Section 5 of Township 5 North, Range 90 West of the 6th principal meridian at the follow UTM <br />coordinates: 286750.8 meters East and 4476498.3 meters North (NAD83, Zone 13). The site is located within the <br />permit area and will be within 700 feet of mining projected to occur in 2016 based on map M10a of the permit. <br />Site 5MF948 appears to consist of a number of petroglyphs on an outcrop of the Twentymile Sandstone.
