No wind information is available at or near the Lorencito Canyon Mine site. Therefore, wind
information is presented for the Trinidad/Las Animas Counry Airport, the nearest location where
a wind climatology is available. The wind climatology was obtained from the National Climatic
Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina. A search of the NCDC indicated the most complete
and long-term wind database for Trinidad was the following data for a period of record January
1948 to December 1958, and October 1960 to September 1961. Table 2.04.8-2 is the suttlmary
of the occurrence of wind from the 16 cardinal directions with wind speed grouped into eight
speed intervals.
