The document name is "Adequacy Review#3"in the DRMS Permit <br /> Index Imaged Database with a document date of April 4, 2014. The Weed Control Plan is located <br /> on pages 38 through 43 of this referenced file. <br /> 16. The Reclamation Plan states that the seeding method will either be by hydroseeding or <br /> conventional methods. Please specify which method will be utilized. If both methods will be <br /> utilized,then specify the approximate percentage which will apply to each method, e.g. 60% <br /> hydroseed, 40%broadcast. This information is necessary to calculate the financial warranty <br /> amount, as the cost between each of these seeding methods varies significantly. <br /> PLS Response: PLS will only implement a conventional planting method(broadcast seeding). <br /> 17. Please specify the quantity of seed for each species to be planted as pounds of pure live seed <br /> per acres. Also, specify whether the shrub species to be planted will be planted as seed or <br /> nursery stock. <br /> PLS Response: Please recall the Reclamation Seed Mix provided in the response to adequacy <br /> review of Amendment No. 3 letter. The document name is "Adequacy Review#3"in the DRMS <br /> Permit Index Imaged Database with a document date of April 4, 2014. The Reclamation seed mix <br /> along with application rates are provided in this document and is located on pages 36 and 37 of <br /> this referenced file. The shrub species will be planted by seed with no nursery stock utilized. <br /> 18. Please specify the type quantity(tons/acre)and application method for the mulch to be used <br /> during final reclamation. <br /> PLS Response: Mulch is applied at a ratio of 2 tons per acre. This is applied via broadcasting <br /> methods. <br /> 6.4.6 Exhibit F—Reclamation Plan Map <br /> 19. As required by Rule 6.4.6(a), the Reclamation Plan Map shall show the expected physical <br /> appearance of the area of the affected land, correlated to the proposed mining and <br /> reclamation timetables. The map must show the proposed topography of the area with <br /> contour lines of sufficient detail to portray the direction and rate of slope of all reclaimed <br /> lands. The map which was submitted for Exhibit F does not meet the above listed <br /> criteria. Please revise the Reclamation Plan Map accordingly. The Division understands <br /> the difficulty in creating a map which depicts the final topography of a mine that will <br /> continue to be operated for many years. However, the map must generally show the <br /> expected physical appearance of the reclaimed site, including areas where highwalls and <br /> cliffs will be present. In addition, the Operator may consider using a larger map scale <br /> in order to portray the reclaimed site. <br /> PLS Response: Please refer to revised Exhibit F—Reclamation Map. <br /> 6.4.7 Exhibit G—Water Information <br /> 20. As required by Rule 6.4.7(2)(c),please submit a brief statement or plan showing how water <br /> from runoff from disturbed areas, piled material and operating surfaces will be managed to <br /> protect pollution of either surface or groundwater, or otherwise indicate where in the permit <br /> file this information can be obtained. <br /> PLS Response: Please find the attached Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
