October 15, 2014 C- 1982 - 057 /Seneca II -W Mine JHB
problems were noted with Pond 5.
Pond 6 looked fine with no concerns noted with this pond.
Stock Tank 22 maintenance is complete. Rip rap drainages to this stock tank and the stock tank itself appear
stable.
Stock tank 20 was almost dry with a small puddle of water remaining in the bottom of the stock tank.
Stock Tank 9 was in good repair. SCC had repaired gullies in the area and added additional rip rap in locations
near the stock pond. ST -9 was not discharging at the time of the inspection. 2 cows remain grazing in this
location.
Sediment pond 9 was viewed from the ridgeline due to a hunting camp pitched adjacent to the Pond 9
embankment. The water level in Pond 9 could be seen to be several feet below the discharge elevation on the
riser.
Pond 15 was also viewed from the ridge. No cattle were in the pond 15 area, but puddles were visible on the
access road to the pond. Pond 15 was holding a permanent pool of water. The access to Pond 15 can be slick
when conditions are wet. Viewed through binoculars, no problems were visible at Pond 15.
Pond 16 was discharging at the time of the inspection. Two springs flow to Pond 16. No problems were identified
with this pond.
Pond 17 was discharging a trickle. No problems were identified with Pons 17. The seep was still flowing slightly
to Pond 17.
ROADS — Rule 4.03
Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3)
Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4)
Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6)
Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
The permanent roads throughout the reclaimed mine site are in good condition and appear ready to
withstand winter weather. The rock placed on Road G near Stock tank 20 is still very large and sharp. The
inspector was able to traverse this large "gravel" in a 4 -wheel drive SUV without incident.
Road J is in good condition and graveled on portions that tend to be clayey. Sediment traps on the west side of
Pond J are in good condition with ample sediment storage capacity.
No concerns were identified with any of the roads during this inspection.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 3 of 8
