The mine is a reclaimed surface mine. No <br />personnel remain on the mine site. Records area stored at the Peablody Sage Creek office. No Seneca Coal <br />Company personnel accompanied the inspector on the site inspection. <br />The weather was clear, mild and dry. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS —Rule 5.02.4(1): <br />Records were checked at the PSCM office on 10115 and also on 10/17. Items not located on 10115 were <br />found on 10/17. Records were up to date as noted on the "Availability of Records" form in this report. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE — Rule 4.18: <br />SCC did not have any hunters on the site. Hunting season was not active at the time of the inspection. No <br />hunters were actively seen on the site. However, a hunting camp was set up adjacent to Pond 9 embankment. <br />Pond 9 was viewed through binoculars from the ridge to avoid disrupting the hunting camp. <br />Four mule deer were observed browsing just west of the snow fence construction. A hunting blind was set up on <br />the ridge south of the snow fence construction. <br />Three Sand hill crane were noted flying low over the reclaimed permit area. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />SCC personnel were collecting conducting WET test sampling at the time of the inspection. <br />Ponds were inspected. Pond 5 was discharging a trickle. Vegetation on the Pond 5 embankment was good.
