DRMS verified topsoil replacement depths of the Z -A -07 and 08 parcels during the October
24, 2007 and April 20, 2010 inspections. The 2.2 acre Z -A -07 and the .5 acre Z -A -08 parcels were observed. A
dense stand of grasses have established on these parcels. Overall, it appears vegetation has established on these parcels to support the post
mine land use. Rills and gullies were not observed on these parcels.
Parcel K -A -10 is 18.0 acres in size. The topsoil depth was evaluated during the August 15, 2013 site inspection.
The Division found the average depth at this parcel to be 16.75 inches. Overall, it appears
vegetation has established in this area to support the post mine land use. This parcel is the lower half of the face of
Horse Gulch Fill. It appears small rills has formed on this parcel but have since stabilized with dense vegetation
cover. Gullies, bulges and cracks were not observed.
The 8.6 acre portion of Parcel Z -A -07 was observed. The topsoil depth for the Z -A -07 parcels was evaluated
during the October 24, 2007 Division inspection, the average topsoil depth observed for this parcel was 11.3
inches. The dominant perennial grass species observed was various Wheatgrasses and Basin Wildrye. The forb
species Sphaeralcea coccinea, Scarlet Globemallow was observed. Musk thistle was observed in small patches
within this parcel and small rosettes were observed. The Division observed several species of shrubs such as Big
sagebursh and Atriplex canescens; Fourwing Saltbush within this parcel. Overall, it appears vegetation has
established in this area to support the post mine land use. It appears small rills had formed on this parcel but have
since stabilized with vegetation cover. Gullies and other erosion features were not observed.
The 2.3 acre and 1.2 acre portion of parcel Z -A -10 was observed. The Division evaluated topsoil replacement
depth on these parcels during the August 15, 2013 inspection. The average topsoil depth found was 13.75 inches.
The dominant species observed appeared to Cheatgrass and Sisymbrium altissimum; Tumble mustard on this
parcel.
