PUBLIC NOTICE CAM MINING LLC, P.O. Boot 98, Loma CO 81524, has submitted an applica- tion for a bond release to the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety for Its Munger Canyon Mine, mining per- mit No. C- 1961 -020. The mining pernai was initially approved on January 13 1983 and most recently renewed on January 13, 2013. The current posted recta mation bond is $65,966 and is in the form of a corporate surety. This permit action will release approxi- matety $24,000 of the bond liability The area for which partial bond re lease is being requested is the Mung- er Canyon portal site, haul road and reclaimed teal mine waste disposal area. Final bond release is being re- quested at the Loma Loadout. During 2001 the 2.9 acre Loma load - out was contoured and seeded. There was poor initial vegetative establish- ment. During 2004 the 2.9 acre Loma loadout was reseeded with a sait tol- erant seed mixture. During 2006 a 111 acre fight use road located in Munger Canyon was contoured and seeded The nine portal area, haul road and coal mine waste disposal area were contoured and seeded during 2007 During the ensuing years the vegeta- tion has flourished. Based on a veg- etation evaluation performed during May and June 2013, a demonstration was made that untreated drainage from the reclaimed areas do not con- tribute additional suspended solids above natural conditions. The vegeta- tion study at the nine sile concludes the area sampled readily passes the ground cover requirement for Phase II bond release. The vegetation study at the Loma loadout concludes the area exhibits a stable, shrub and forb -door hated vegetation community that appears more than capable of sup porting numerous pod- disturbance land uses. The Munger Canyon Mine Is located In Garfield County approxirrrately 12 miles north of Loma, CO along State Highway 139. Fad Sall Creek Is locat- ed on the western portion of the per - nit boundary. Mod of the surface of the permit area is owned by the United States. The permit area is encom- passed within portions of Sections 27 28 and 29 of Township 7 South, Range 102 West, 6th P.M.A portion of the per- mit area in section 29 is owned by 011 Enterpriser, The Loma Loadout is located in Mesa County approximately one -hall mile east of Loma, CO. The loadout Is locat- ed south of the Union Pacific mainline west of 13.5 read. The surface of the permit area is owned by the Union Pacific Railroad. The permit area is encompassed within portions of the SWAW14 of Section 34 Township i North, Range 3 West,111e Meridian and portions of the NEf4NWA of Section 3 Township 1 North, Range 3 Wed, Ute Meridian. The mine she sections are contained within the U.S. Geological Survey 7.? minute Howard Canyon and Garvey Canyon Quadrangle maps. The Load - out sections are contained within the U.S. Geological Survey 75 minute Mack Quadrangle Map.
