June 18, 2014C-1994-082/Yoast MineJHB <br />Pond 011 was discharging a small trickle, at 0.05 on the staff gauge. The outslopelooked good. This pond has no <br />riser. The fabric repair near the pondinlet (west side) has beentorn up. <br />ROADS –Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) <br />Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) <br />Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The access road from Routt County road No.27 to the Yoast Mine area hadrecently been regraded. <br />Repairs to gullying along the access road have been initiated. <br />The access road west of stockpond ST-1 is beginning to rill. Grading should keep this access road to developing <br />ruts. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS -Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br />Overall the reclaimed site looks good. Weed control needs to continue; specifically for Whitetop, Canada <br />thistle, Houndstongue, Dalmation toadflax (on pond 11 outslope), and Jointed goatgrass (embankment of pond <br />10). <br />YB-2 culvert needs clean out. Some rills in the reclaimed areas need attention (YPM-9), and damaged fabric needs <br />repair. <br />Sheep were observed grazing on the parcel that was approved for phase III bond release with SL5. (Photo1) <br />REVEGETATION –Rule 4.15 <br />Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />SP2010 located on the west side of YPM11 has white toppatches within the shrub plot. Spot spraying of <br />these patches may help keep this noxious species from spreading further.(Photo 7) <br />Weedy species; Houndstongue and thistle were prevalentin slump area north of SP07-1 and need weed control <br />measures. <br />The reclaimed area east of YPM-15 is well vegetated and looking good. Some Canada thistle and Houndstongue <br />were noted in this parcel. Vegetation on the slope west of YPM-1, and east of LU3B is dominated by a healthy <br />stand of sagebrush (Photo 9) <br />An access route alongside the upper portions of YPM-8 had been reseeded. This area appeared stable, was not <br />eroding, nor were noxious species becoming established. Recently seeded vegetation was emergening. <br />Shrub plot SP06-1 had good grass cover throughout. Shrubshave established but tend to be hidden by the grasses. <br />Serviceberry has established well on the southwestside of this plot.
