Final Reclamation Plan Permit ft. 11-1977-297 Technical Revision Application
Technical Revisidn Application-Burros Mine
DRMS Permit NV 1-1977-297
1.O Introduction
The Burros Mine contains one underground portal, one ventilation shalt, an old metal building, an old
steel ore bin near, the portal, some wood cribbing, a multi-level development rock pad, sediment
structures, and several pieces of old mining equipment which are still in place on the Burro#5 waste pad.
The portal entry is secured by a heavy gauge steel grate anchored Firmly in the sandstone and is provided
with hooded locks to prevent entry. The ventilation shaft is provided with a locked chain-link fence to
preclude access, and the opening is secured by means of a steel plate attached to the concrete collar.
2.0 Reclamation Plan Commitments
The reclamation plan(s) submitted to the DMRS are those outlined in the original 1977 permit
application. The reclamation needs identified at that time included the following:
a) Sealing of portals and Ventilation Shafts
The current, reclamation plan calls for sealing of the portal and ventilation shaft
b) Removal of Structures and Cleanup
The current reclamation plan call for removal of the old metal building, steel ore bin near the
portal, wood cribbing, timbers, steel debris and old mining equipment located on the Burro#5
waste pad.,
c) Disposition of Mine Waste(Contouring Leveling. Use for Backfill, etc.)
The current reclamation plan is predicated on mining that did not occur. Thus, the contouring and
leveling requirements anticipated in the plan are based on activities that were not undertaken.
Current conditions do not warrant leveling and contouring except that necessary in the area of the
wooden cribbing and multi-level development rock pads.
A surface water control feature was located upland of the permitted area which failed and is not
accessible to the operator. Other down-gradient sediment controls exist, and are sufficient to
control sediment transport. Runoff' from the permitted area is not expected and has not been
observed. In this regard,a radiometric survey conducted by the Division did not indicate impact
above background at sediment settling locations down gradient of the permitted area, In order to
preclude Allure sediment migration, Gold Eagle Mining Inc. will construct a series of down-
gradient berms as an element of reclamation.
Gold Eagle Mining)Inc.
