Final Reclamation Plan Permit iVo. 11--1977-297 Technical Revision Application <br /> (1) Re-Vegetation <br /> The 1977 reclamation plan includes a seed ntix which is no longer recommended by the Division. <br /> Seed mixtures will need to be confirmed and approved by the DBMS this and that approval will <br /> be included as an element of reclamation. <br /> 3.0 Proposed Reclamation Plan <br /> The final reclamation plan for the Burros Mine is intended to comply with the requirements of the <br /> original 1977 reclaiation plan but is modified by this Technical Revision to reflect current onsite <br /> conditions and the recommendations and the preferences of the DOE. The plan and modifications based <br /> on current conditions are outlined in Table I below. <br /> Table 1-Final Reclamation Plan and Activities <br /> Reclamation Components Planned Reclamation Activities <br /> Sealing of Portals -Toe mine portal and ventilation shaft have been provided with closures <br /> which preclude entrance to the mine. <br /> - The Department of Energy (DOE) prefers (fiat these openings be left <br /> available r'or future use and have stated their preference to leave these <br /> structures at Final Reclamation. <br /> -Gold Eagle Mining Inc. has submitted a letter to DOE requesting DOE to <br /> confirm their preference in writing(see attached). <br /> -Gold Eagle Mining Inc.is awaiting DOE's response and will transmit DOE's <br /> determination to DBMS once it has been received. <br /> Removal of Structures and Cleanup - 71te steel ore bin near the portal,will be retained at closure as a matter of <br /> historical significance as supported by the 1994 BLM opinion. <br /> -The Department of Energy(DOE)prefers that these mining features remain <br /> in place at Final Reclamation. <br /> -Gold Eagle Mining Inc. has submitted a letter to DOE requesting DOE to <br /> confirm their preference in writing(see attached). <br /> -Gold Eagle Mining file.is awaiting DOE's response and will transmit DOE's <br /> determination to DRMS once it has been received <br /> Disposition of Waste -There is no rninc waste at the site. <br /> Site Grading and Contouring -T'he operator will construct a series of down-gradient berms as an element of <br /> reclam^tion. <br /> - If site reclamation activities create disturbances,such disturbances will be <br /> contoured by grading to Ft surrounding terrain. <br /> -The nuliti-level development rock pad will be re-contourcd to fit the <br /> surrounding terrain. <br /> Weed Control -Noxious weed control has been successful at the Burros with annual <br /> application of spray by the operator. <br /> -The site will be monitored subsequent to final reclamation in order to <br /> determine the need for additional spaying of disturbances which stay <br /> result front reclamation activities. <br /> Re-Vegetation -A site inspection will be conducted annually for 3 years subsequent to <br /> reclamation in order to detenmine the need for additional planting, if planting <br /> is necessary the seed mix will be approved by the DRMS prior to planting, <br /> Gold Eagle Mining/Pc. <br /> Montrose, CO <br />
