Table D -2
Permit Area Description
Acreage
1. Soil /Overburden
14.8
2. Sediment Pond
0.9
3. Internal Roads
12.5
4. Gas Lines & Power Line ROWS
9.24
5. Mining Pit 1
30.71
6. Mining Pit 2
31.1
7. Mining Pit 3
55.1
8. Mining Pit 4
75.19
Total Permit Area
229.54
Note that the processing area will move during the mining of the 15 Road Pit, so it has been
included in the areas described above. The processing facilities will be located in or next to each
pit as it is mined.
Mining will progress through the Pits numerically. The topsoil and overburden from a new area
will be used to reclaim the previous area as well as create the wetlands which have been
previously described. This will reduce material moving as well as reduce the maximum area to
be reclaimed. Any fines from the crushing/screening operation will also be salvaged and used in
the reclamation. A table of expected mining lives for each Pit is included in Table D -3. The life
of each Pit is based on the anticipated annual average tonnage.
15 Road Pit May 14 D -3
