Mr. Caccamise
Page 12
April 2, 2014
for sources of metal contamination, the prospector will be investigating a mineral deposit
with the intent of developing or extracting said mineral deposit.
4. The Applicant did not specify the amount of material to be extracted or moved. Please
specify the amount of material, in cubic yards, to be extracted.
5. The Applicant has stated two drill pads will be constructed. Please provide a description of
how the drill pads will be constructed, this information is necessary to calculate the costs
associated with reclaiming the drill pads.
6. The Applicant has stated that the drill sites and roads will be graded and revegetated per the
USFS recommendations. Please provide the Division with any recommendations you have
received from the USFS.
7. The Plan of Operations (POO) which was submitted with the NOI Application states that a
water truck will be utilized for this project. Please specify how the water will be used in this
project. In addition, specify the source of the water and the estimated volume of water to be
used.
8. The Project Description in the attached POO includes the following statement: Rotary
drilling; maximum 10,000 feet. Please clarify if `10,000 feet' refers to the elevation at which
drilling will be conducted.
9. The POO states that drill cuttings will be transported to logging sheds at the mill site. The
POO also states that the logging sheds will be mounted on an old building foundation on the
mill site claim. Please confirm that the mill site claim is located on USFS property. Also,
specify the number of sheds to be erected and provide the dimensions of the sheds as well as
the materials used to construct the sheds, i.e. corrugated metal, plywood, concrete blocks.
Since these structures will be used in conjunction with the prospecting operation, the
Division must bond for their removal. Finally, describe how the mill site claim is accessed, is
there an existing access road?
10. The POO references Drill Hole #3 which was completed in 2003. Please clarify how the
existing drill holes on Webster Pass relate to the proposed Red Cone project.
11. The POO states that water will be pumped from Handcart Gulch. The applicant must
demonstrate a legal right to divert and consume water from Handcart Gulch. In addition, you
must specify the volume of water to be diverted and the intended use of the water. Also,
describe all conveyances used to pump water to the drill pads and provide the dimensions of
all piping to be used.
12. The POO states that drilling fluids will be transported from the site. This statement
contradicts information provided in the NOI Application, which specifies air drilling. Please
clarify if drilling fluids will be produced as a result of the proposed drilling operation.
