Timothy A. Cazier, P.E.
February 24, 2014
Page 6
of the residential water supplies. This generally consists of installing a cistern and
providing hauled potable water, all at Transit Mix's cost. Transit Mix continues
to monitor ground water levels in all six wells, and will take the necessary actions
should it appear that the interruption of their wells will be impacted.
14) Table 2 / Exhibit C -8. Comment: One of the eight listed well users (Mravich) indicates
no water supply improvements. Please explain why no improvements have occurred for
this user. The response should include a summary status of any negotiations, summary of
any agreements in place, and reasons why improvements are not necessary or wanted.
Also, please indicate whether there are any signed agreements with the well users for
which water supply improvements have been made.
a. Response: During the mining of Phase 2, Transit Mix continually monitored
ground water levels in the Mravich well. During the period of mining in Phase 2,
water levels never declined to a point where water supply improvements were
necessary. Mr. Mravich's existing water supply was never interrupted. Mining at
the Phase 2 pit is largely complete, and water levels in the area have returned to
that of pre -Phase 2 mining. Those well and home owners are largely operating
on their well water supplies again, in many cases including new water supply
wells provided by Transit Mix, and Transit Mix has allowed the homeowners to
keep the cistern systems that were provided.
We hope the responses provided and the attachments included in this letter provide sufficient
information for your review of TR -02.
