Susan Burgmaier -S- February 7, 2014
120'; page 11 of Volume XI states that the Buckhorn report confirms stability of Gob
Pile #3 to a height of 110'. Please revise the text on page 4 to indicate a
maximum pile height of 110' for Gob Pile #3, consistent with the Buckhorn
report, (Rule 4.10.4(2))
BOW2: Please see revised Volume XI page 4. Maximum height shall be 122'.
18. DRMS: Based on the summary of revised pages, it appears that pages 4a and 4b
of the currently approved Volume XI will be retained; at this time these pages are
pertinent information that should be retained. Please verify thatpages 4a and 4b
of Volume XI will be retained with TR -84,
BOW2: Pages 4a and 4b will be retained. They were not revised so they were not
included in the submitted pages.
19. DRMS: Page 5 of Volume XI indicates that Pond J has been sized to contain
approximately 4.0 acre feet of water and 0.5 acre feet of sediment. This appears to be
in conflict with the Pond J Capacities table on the right edge of Map 22J, that says the
As -Built Capacity for water is 2.68 ac ft and sediment is 0.91 ac ft. Pleasereviewand
correct page 5 of Volume XI so that the stated capacities of Pond J are
consistent with Map 22J,
BOW2: The "as- built" information is confusing, and has been removed. Instead, the
capacities listed are now for the designed, and required configuration of Pond J. Please
see revised Map 223 and page 5.
20. DRMS: Paragraph 2 of the Inspection section, on page 9 of Volume XI, refers to
underdrains being covered with "excess spoil ". A term such as "coverfill" may be more
accurate here. Please review the use of the term "excess spoil "in paragraph 2
of page 9 of Volume XI and revise, if appropriate.
BOW2: Please see revised page 9.
21. DRMS: BRL has provided a material balance sheet as new Appendix A to Volume
XI. The volumes proposed for cover fill and topsoil replacement may require revision
depending on the outcome of Item 15, above.
BOW2: Appendix A is no longer included with this revision.
22. DRMS: Drainage from the East and West Topsoil stockpiles, as currently approved,
