Susan Burgmaier -11 February 7, 2014
BOW2: Please see revised Map 21 -1.
39. DRMS: Map 21 -3 Drainage Plans:
a) The revised map provides two labels for the ditch entering Pond J from the west. It
appears that the label D -116 (in red) is in error and should be removed. Please
verify the correct label for this ditch and remove the extraneous label.
b) The revised map includes a line, around the J and H drainage areas, that is not
identified in the legend. The line is purple, with a "one long and two short" pattern.
Please either identify this line in the legend or remove it from the map,
BOW2: Please see revised Map 21 -3.
40. DRMS: Map 22 -J Pond J Detail:
a) Section B -B' of the revised map shows the secondary dewatering pipe being buried
in the embankment. Is BRL proposing to abandon this dewatering pipe, or
was it inadvertently moved on the drawing?
BOW2: The pipe was inadvertently moved. Please see revised Map 22 -1.
b) Please provide additional details on the secondary dewatering pipe,
indicating the valve location on the drawings and the inlet and outlet
elevations under Note #4.
BOW2; The inlet elevation is shown in the profile view of Section B -B'. The elevation
of the outlet end and the valve is not known at this time and putting it on the map
would be an educated guess. After the approval of TR -84, and the expansion of
Pond J is complete, the location and elevation can be determined by an as -built
survey and will be added to a future version of Map 22 -J.
c) Please correct Note t to indicate that the design information for the ponds
and ditches (please also add "culverts') is located in Appendix B of
Volume XI,
d) The details of Section A -A' and B -B' conflict on the full sediment level. A -A' indicates
it is 5848'; B -B' is 5850'. Please verify the full sediment level and revise the
map appropriately,
BOW2; The full sediment elevation should be 5850'. Therefore, the designed water
and sediment levels have changed and been revised on Map 22 -3 and on Volume
XI, page S.
e) On the plan view provided for Pond J, the contour lines are too light to distinguish,
so we are unable to view the contour lines to verify the capacity of the pond.
