Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company <br />PSES Pipe Rack Liner Extension <br />Final Report ameO <br />Quality Assurance Monitoring &Test Results <br />February 4, 2014 <br />2.0 SUMMARY OF EARTHWORK CONSTRUCTION <br />Earthworks activities associated with the PSES Pipe Rack Liner Extension included <br />the following: <br />• Site grading <br />• Random fill subgrade preparation <br />• DCF placement above the primary geomembrane layer <br />• Compaction of DCF <br />Ames generally used the following equipment during construction: <br />• Caterpillar 320C Excavator <br />• Komatsu Excavator <br />• John Deere 35D Mini Excavator <br />• Bobcat T705 Skid -steer Loader <br />• Caterpillar CS56 Smooth Drum Compactor <br />• Vibratory Plate Compactors <br />• Jumping Jack Compactors <br />Weather data for the PSES Pipe Rack Liner Extension construction activities from the <br />period of September 2013 through November 2013 are presented in Table 2. <br />2.1 Subgrade Preparation <br />Ames re- contoured the entire surface of the PSES Pipe Rack Liner Extension footprint. <br />The surface was smooth, firm, and unyielding, and free of vegetation, construction <br />debris, sticks, sharp rocks, void spaces, ice, abrupt elevation changes, standing water, <br />and cracks larger than one - quarter inch in width. The quality of the finished surface <br />was then maintained until the GCL was placed. AMEC and ECA provided formal <br />random fill subgrade approval prior to GCL deployment. Acceptance forms are <br />presented in Appendix G. <br />2.2 Drain Cover Fill <br />Ames placed DCF at the PSES Pipe Rack Liner Extension during November 2013, <br />with placement being completed on November, 15 2013. Ames placed approximately <br />4,407 cubic yards of DCF in the PSES Pipe Rack Liner Extension. The material was <br />placed in a minimum 2- foot -thick lift over the geomembrane. Ames placed DCF in an <br />uphill direction on any slopes steeper than 4H:1 V. The first lift was placed in a <br />minimum 24 -inch lift accordance with the Technical Specifications; the remaining DCF <br />5 <br />
