Coarse Aggregate, ASTM C 33, except that clay and shale particles shall not exceed 1 percent of <br /> total aggregate. <br /> C. Fine Aggregate,ASTM C 33,washed natural sand. <br /> 2.02 MIXES <br /> A. Mix Designs: <br /> Concrete mix design shall be designed by an independent testing laboratory. <br /> B. Cast-In-Place Concrete: <br /> 1. Cast-in-place concrete shall have a minimum 28-day compressive strength of 4,000 psi. <br /> 2. Maximum Aggregate size of 1-inch. <br /> 3. Placement slump of between 2-inches and 5-inches. <br /> PART 3: EXECUTION <br /> 3.01 INSTALLATION <br /> A. Ready-Mix Concrete shall be batched, transported, and placed in accordance with ASTM C 94. <br /> Each batch delivered to the Site shall be accompanied by a certified weight master's delivery ticket. <br /> B. All mixed concrete delivered to the Site shall be placed within 90 minutes from the time of <br /> introduction of cement and water into the mix. <br /> C. No water shall be added after leaving the batch plant without the approval of CERTIFYING <br /> ENGINEER. <br /> D. Placement of concrete,once started,shall be performed as a continuous operation until the scheduled <br /> placement is completed. <br /> E. Cold joints shall be approved by CERTIFYING ENGINEER. <br /> F. Vibrators shall be used only to minimize honeycomb, and shall not be used to move concrete from <br /> one location to another. Concrete shall not be moved in the forms more than 5 feet. <br /> G. The rock surface within the competent bedrock of the underground working shall be scaled to <br /> removed any loose material prior to Cement Plug placement. <br /> 3.02 CLEANING <br /> All form materials and debris resulting from construction shall be disposed of as directed by MANAGER. <br /> Section 03320 Page 2 of 3 May 9,2012 <br /> Concrete Plug Revision 1 <br />
