2.04.9 Soil Resource Information:
13. In accordance with Rule 2.04.9, the applicant shall provide adequate soils information for those
portions of the permit area to be disturbed by surface operations and facilities. Prior to disturbing
land within the proposed expansion area, Trapper will need to submit the information required in
Rule 2.04.9. The Division will stipulate the approval of the permit revision to supply this
information prior to disturbing land within the proposed permit area expansion.
Trapper Response to Comment 13: Trapper will submit the requested information prior to any mining in
the permit expansion area
2.04. 10 Vegetation Information
14. Please update Map M16 for the expansion area. Rule 2.04.10(1) requires the permit application to
contain a vegetation map, which delineates plant communities within the permit area. The
delineation of plant communities shall be on the basis of visually dominant perennial species.
Trapper Response to Comment 14: Attached is revised Map M 16 that includes the permit expansion area.
Plant communities are delineated within the expansion area.
15. In accordance with Rule 2.04.10 (3), the revised vegetation map shall include sufficient adjacent
areas to allow evaluation of vegetation as important habitat for fish and wildlife for those species of
fish and wildlife identifies under rule 2.04.11. An aerial photograph, with plant communities
delineated, may be used in lieu of a vegetation map for this purpose.
Trapper Response to Comment 15: Enclosed revised Map M 16 delineates plant communities adjacent to
the pit expansion area. Adjacent area mapping went approximately 0.5 miles beyond the permit boundary.
16. The baseline vegetation studies contained in the current permit do not cover the proposed expansion
area. Prior to mining in the expansion area, Trapper will need to submit the vegetation information
required by Rule 2.04.10(4). The Division will stipulate the approval of this permit revision to
supply this information prior to disturbing land within the proposed permit area expansion.
Trapper Response to Comment 16: Trapper will submit the requested information prior to any mining in
the permit expansion area
17. In accordance with Rule 2.10.3 0); the permit application shall include maps showing the existing
topography within the area to be affected during the estimate life of the operation and adjacent
lands. The M3 series maps depict the Pre- Mining Topography of the site. Map M3 Sheet 5 depicts
the eastern portion of the site but does not depict the area adjacent to the current permit area to the
East. This area encompasses the proposed permit boundary expansion area. Please submit a new
M3 series map that depicts the existing topography of the expansion area and the adjacent lands.
Trapper Response to Comment 17: The original M3 Pre - Mining Topography maps (sheets 1 -5) were
developed on sepia mylars before electronic mapping was introduced. Trapper has re- generated these
topographies and the associated information provided on the originals to a new, three sheet format (M3;
sheets 1, 2, & 3) that includes the proposed permit boundary expansion areas to the east of the current
permit boundary. The new M3 maps are similar to the other 400 scale mine maps.
