Topsoil will be replaced at a minimum thickness of 12 inches over all stripped areas from two
feet below the water line and up. All areas to be topsoiled will require 42,000 CY to topsoil with
the minimum thickness of 12 inches. This will either be direct placed or stored in a temporary
berm. 34,000 CY of topsoil will be used in the construction of permanent berms. There is over
97,700 CY of topsoil expected to be encountered during mining, which is more than sufficient to
cover the topsoil needs of the operation. Excess topsoil will be placed on the pit floor or on pit
slopes at the landowner discretion.
Topsoil and/or overburden may be imported to the site from local projects. This material will be
certified to be inert by the party bringing material in. The material would be used to provide
variation in the lake slope for aesthetic benefit.
3. Haul Roads and Access
All internal haul roads used by the mining operation will be reclaimed at the end of mining. The
access road will be left in place. See Map F.
4. Reclamation Timetable
The timetable for reclamation is shown below in Table E -2. Reclamation Timetable. Exhibit L:
Reclamation Costs describes the worst case bond scenario.
Tomichi Pit, December 2013 E -2
