RECLAMATION PLAN
1. General Reclamation Plan
EXHIBIT E
The total area of the permit is 134.50 acres. The permit has both disturbed area (72.70 acres) and
undisturbed area (61.80 acres). The large amount of undisturbed area is due to avoiding the
central wetland. The access road will be left in place as the primary property access. The
reclaimed land use is shown in Table E -1. The reclaimed slopes vary above the anticipated water
line (7709' to 7710' elevation) to provide a more aesthetically pleasing shoreline than typically
found at sand and gravel pits. Below the anticipated lake level the slopes will be 2H:1 V. Map F
shows the reclaimed land use and layout of the site, while Map C -3 shows the difference in
topography between mining and reclamation.
Table E -1 Tomichi Pit Reclaimed Land Use
Description
Area
Lake Area
46.08
acres
Wetlands Built
4.14
acres
Other Wildlife Habitat Built
21.48
acres
Roads
1.00
acres
Undisturbed Areas
61.80
jacres
Total Permit Area
1 134.50
jacres
Reclamation will be conducted concurrently with mining to minimize the unreclaimed area
exposed at any given time. Considering that the maximum mining highwall is expected to be
approximately 1200' long, this will most likely be the largest area of unreclaimed slope at any
time. The worst case reclamation scenario for the mine is detailed in Exhibit L.
2. Topsoil Replacement
The topsoil salvaged during mining will be immediately placed on the unreclaimed portions of
the pit as much as possible. This will happen concurrently with mining to minimize the amount
of unreclaimed slope. Some topsoil will be placed in various berms on site, with some berms
being permanent.
Tomichi Pit, December 2013 E -1
