October 24,2013 C-1981-010/Trapper Mine JLE
East Flume Pond was holding a very small amount of water near the northwest comer of the pond. The pond was
not discharging. Several badger holes were observed on the embankment and under the concrete primary and
emergency spillway. These badger holes will need to be repaired. The primary and emergency spillway appeared
clear and functional and the sediment marker was in place.
East Middle Flume No. 1 Pond was holding water but was not discharging. The flume was clear and functional.
The embankment was stable and vegetated and the primary and emergency spillway was clear and functional.
Oak#2 Pond was holding water but was not discharging at the flume. The embankment was stable and vegetated.
It appears Trapper has conducted some repair work to the pond spillway channel that leads to the flume. It
appears several larger rills in gullies in the channel have been repaired.
East Pyeatt Pond#1 was holding water and discharging. The primary and emergency spillway was clear and
functional. The pond embankment was stable and vegetated. The sediment marker was in place. This pond may
need to be cleaned in the future.
East Pyeatt Pond#2 was holding water and discharging. It appears that TMI has cleared the brush and debris that
had been caught in the spillway channel of this pond from last month's storm event. The primary and emergency
spillway was clear and functional. The pond embankment was stable and vegetated.
East Pyeatt#3 Pond was holding water and discharging. The primary and emergency spillway was clear and
functional. The pond embankment was stable and vegetated.
Middle Pyeatt#3 Pond was dry and the embankment appeared stable and vegetated. The primary and emergency
spillway was clear and functional.
West Pyeatt#2 was dry. The primary and emergency spillway was clear and functional. The pond embankment
was stable and vegetated.
West Pyeatt#1 pond was holding water but was not discharging.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
It appears that TMI is mining in the K/M/L pit areas. The Queen Anne dragline was the only dragline operating at
the time of the inspection. A truck and shovel crew was also active. Trapper was preparing a blast in what
appears to be the K-Pit area.
East A Pit was holding water.
OTHER(SPECIFY):
The Division conducted the"AVS Annual Review"as directed by the Division's administrative staff. Enclosed is
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 3
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 5 of 8
