October 24,2013 C-1981-010/Trapper Mine JLE
end of the parcel. The elevations interpolated from each sample point along this tansect from the SL15 map were
about 10.6 feet higher on average than the elevation found on the PMT map. The measured elevations were about
8.4 feet higher than the elevations found on the SL15 map and 19.0 feet higher than the elevations found on the
PMT map. The average difference in elevation measured versus the elevations interpolated from the PMT map
appear to be consistent for Transect 5. It is inconsistent that the elevation interpolated for point C of Transect 5
from the SL15 map is substantially higher than the elevation interpolated from the PMT map at point C. Based on
the SL15 application,it appears the topography of the SL15 map was generated from an aerial photograph taken in
2012. At that time, a topsoil stockpile;Z2-07,was located at this point. It appears topsoil has been removed from
this pile and was used for reclamation,so it is likely the SL15 map does not accurately depict the topography at
this specific point. Transect 6 is located on the eastern end of the parcel. The elevations interpolated at the sample
points along this tansect from the SL15 map were on average 3.3 feet higher than the elevations found on the
PMT map. The measured elevations were on average 17.4 feet and 20.7 feet higher than the elevations found on
the SL15 and PMT respectively. The cross-sections created from the measured elevations, the SL15 map and the
PMT map for Transect 3,4, 5 and 6 have very similar slope and grades. Overall,it appears this parcel has been
graded in accordance with the approved post mine topography.
Parcel K-A-13 was evaluated using Transects 7 and 8. This parcel encompasses a portion of the eastern end of the
Horse Gulch Fill Area. Parcel K-A-13 and the northeast portion of the adjacent parcel K-A-11 encompass a spoil
ridge associated with Horse Gulch Fill. Transects 7 and 8 extended into parcel K-A-11 in order to get a better
picture of how these two parcel blend with each other given that Parcel K-A-13 is fairly narrow. For Transect 7,
the elevations interpolated from the SL15 map were about 1.3 feet higher on average than the elevations
interpolated from the PMT map. The measured elevations were on average 4.7 feet and 6.1 feet higher than the
elevations interpolated from the SL15 map and the PMT map respectively. For Transect 8, elevations found on
the SL15 map were about 3.2 feet higher on average than the elevations found on the PMT map. The measured
elevations were on average about 17.3 feet and 20.5 feet higher than the elevations found on the SL15 map and the
PMT map respectively. The cross-sections created from the measured elevations, the SL15 map and the PMT map
for Transects 7 and 8 have very similar slope and grades. Overall,it appears this parcel has been graded in
accordance with the approved post mine topography.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05;Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,
4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10;Diversions 4.05.4;Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water
Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8;
Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
A small basin was observed near Transect 4 in Parcel Z-A-13. This is near a previously delineated dozer basin/
livestock pond depicted on the 2012 Annual Reclamation Report Map. This basin is approximately.42 acres in
size based on a GPS measurement of the perimeter of the basin.
Middle Flume Pond No. 3 was inspected; this pond was actively being cleaned during the inspection. A long
armed track hoe was excavating sediment from the pond and loading the sediment into trucks. TMI had noted
during their 3rd quarter sediment pond inspections that this pond was in need of cleaning. The Division concurred
with this observation.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 3
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 4 of 8
