+ CWRRI Completion Report No. 20$ on the "Impact of Streamflow Variability on the
Colorado River System Operation.
Approach:
The fallowing sub-tasks are structured to avoid unfocused reviews of the thousands of pages of
previous Colorado River basin water studies. If not constrained, this activity would be time-
consuming and costly, especially if all the primary consulting team members, CWCB
management team, and interested parties review the original documents.
2.1 Pertinent Document List -Identify and list high priority (suggested for review) and lower
priority, readily available, previous studies and investigations pertinent to the execution
of primary Study tasks. The studies and investigations will include (in addition to those
listed above) key documents related to paleo-hydrology, previous stochastically-
generated traces of Colorado River flows; climate change assessments and modeling, and
additional relevant documents that are identified as part of subsequent tasks. Submit the
list to CWCB for review and comment. Based on comments from CWCB, prepare a final
list, The cost estimate assumes that only one review cycle will be required and that
modifications will not be substantial. It is assumed that CWCB staff will loan copies of
appropriate documents and that the consulting team will copy, ar scan into PDF format,
relevant sections of the documents to maintain a set of documents in a central location far
use of the Study team, CWCB staff, and others designated by the CWCB Study Manager.
2.2 Summary Briefs -Review each document identified in Task 2.1 as high priority and
prepare summary briefs of each document. Each summary will abstract key
methodologies, conclusions, numerical data, forecasts, and projected stream flows and/or
reservoir contents. It is assumed there will be up to 20 documents to review and
summarize and that each document will require an average of 4 hours from the primary
reviewer and 2 hours of support staff assistance to prepare the summaries. Use of the
summaries and detailed review of the documents pertinent to the execution of remaining
Study tasks are budgeted under each task.
Deliverables:
2.1 Bulleted listing of pertinent studies and investigations.
2.2 Technical memorandum that compiles the pertinent document summaries.
Task 3: Glossary and Basin Maps
Objective:
The objective of Task 3 is to provide website-ready maps and a Glossary of Terms to facilitate
communications with BRT members and others involved in the Study.
Colorado River Water Availability Study Scope 7 8/28120Q8
CRWAS Phase] Contract Scope EX A Final
